Summary: We willre-trace the adventure of the renown Dynasty Buddhist monk, Tang Sanzang, whowent on foot from Xian to India along the Silk Road, to bring back BuddhistScriptures to China during Tang Dynasty. He was ofcourse immortalized in the Chinese classic. Journey to the West. In this tour,you will visit as many places as you can see in Tang Sanzang's journey,particularly the cities and towns such as Turpan and Kashgar, the incrediblenatural landscape, and even the descendants of the ancient tribes along theway. In addition, you will visit other Chinese historical and cultural wonders,such as the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, the Terra Cotta Warriors and theancient City Wall in Xian, the Giant Leshan Buddha in Chengdu, and so on.

Day 1  Xi'an 

The guide will meet you at the Xianyang airport， transferyou to the hotel and check in. The following day we will start the tour.(Please note that if your international flight is to Beijing， you can take the flightto Luoyang， and start the tour from Luoyang.)

Day 2  Xi'an  Luoyang  Xi'an

After breakfast we will take thehighspeed train to Luoyang to visit the Longmen Grottoes ， it is a treasure house of ancient Buddhist cave art，which is locatednear Luoyang， Henan Province. The grottoes were hewed and carved during the NorthernWei Dynasty (386-534)， when the rulers relocated their capital at Luoyang nearthe end of the 5th century. At that time Buddhism was spread into east Chinaand was venerated by the imperial court. The Buddhists adopted the practice ofcarving rock temples， dedicated to the Buddha. Then go to visit the White Horse Temple.The White Horse Temple was the first Buddhist temple inChina， established under the patronage of Emperor Ming in the Eastern Hancapital Luoyang in the year 68. White Horse Temple is one of the oldestbuddhist temples. It is only 12 kilometers from Luoyang city.
After the white horse temple go to visit the Shaolin Temple .This famous temple is located in the region of Song Mountain， Dengfeng City，Henan Province. Throughout its history it has been reputed to be 'the Number OneTemple under Heaven'. Included in UNESCO's World Cultural & NaturalHeritage List in 2010， the temple is the cradle of the Chinese Zen Buddhism andthe Shaolin Martial Arts such as Shaolin Cudgel.

After that we will take the highspeed trainback to Xi'an.
