1.    How to make a reservation

Step 1:

Just click the button ” Booking”  below the travel routes which you want. Please email or call us for any tours you like. If you prefer a customized tour, just click the button “Tailor Own Silk Road” on the first page of our website to submit the plan you want to us.

Step 2:

Tour-silkroad will have your reservation confirmed as soon as possible. When your reservation is confirmed, Tour-silkroad will send you a confirmation email or call you directly, which includes confirmed hotels, flights and detailed itinerary and way of payment.You still have chance to customize it or consult with us until you are satisfied with all the tour details before you make the final decision.

Step 3:

After you make the final confirmation for the tour, please transfer 10%-20% of the total price as a deposit to our company account via Paypal or Wire transfer .The balance of the cost needs to be paid 30 days prior you start the tour in principle,or when you start your tour at most according to the exact booking dates.

Attention To: We promise 24-hour response on emails. We will contact you soon for the details .  If you have failed to get our reply within one day, before you are uncertain aboutour promise, please first check the following two things:

(a). Check your spam emails in your outlookor webmail because very often our replied emails are automatically deleted as junk emails because of  possible spamfiltering.

(b). Avoid using some webmail providers with strong spam filtering, especially those who claim "individual items "set in the Trash folder will be automatically deleted from our mail servers and we are unable to recover permanently deleted items".

Caution:

(a).Very often people using Optus Webmail from Australia fail to get our emails due to unknown reasons.
(b).Avoid using the webmails provided by institutions such as universities,government organs which have strong mail filters.  

2. Travel Consultant, Confirmation and Tour Conducting

Travel Consultant

(1). In order to make sure to get travel services from Tour-silkroad , you should provide us the following information  in advance:

  a) Detailed arrival & departure dates;
  b) Exact number of tourists in your traveling party, and the related information including: passenger's full name as appeared on the passport,gender, date of birth, occupation, nationality and passport number; or send the picture page  of  passports to us.
  c) Planned itinerary including total number of days and number of days in each city;
  d) Special conditions of transportation and extra services to be provided;
  e) Tourists have the obligation to provide the passenger information in advance to Tour-silkroad  for the reservation of hotels , flights and trains ;
(2). Once we receive the request from you, Tour-silkroad should confirm relevant reservation as soon as possible in letter form or phone call.
(3). Should there be any revision or cancellation to be made by tourists to the confirmed tours, it shall be handled in accordance with the email correspondences between tourists & Tour-silkroad.
(4).Tour-silkroad will provide travel service to tourists based on the confirmed tour itinerary. We usually have your reservation confirmed no more than 1 working day. When your reservation is confirmed, you will get a confirmation email or call from us, which includes the confirmed flights, hotels, and detailed itinerary and way of payment.
Travel Contract
The email correspondence between Tour-silkroad & tourists is a binding travel contract between Tour-silkroad & tourists. The final tour confirmation letter from Tour-silkroad given to tourists must include the following information:

Price and Quotation Policy
Tour-silkroad  normally quotes tour prices in RMB and US Dollars on our web site based on the exchange rate between USD and RMB:1 USD = 6.3RMB. But we will draw Chinese currency (CNY) from your credit card if you pay by credit card. What appears on your bank statement for your actual payment may be more (or even less) than what you were expecting.

Tour cost is quoted for one traveler based on two sharing room, economic class of domestic flights, all land transfers within China,hotels, meals as listed in the itinerary ( or upon your request ), sightseeing,tour guide service. If you want to share one room by yourself, please pay singleroom supplement. 

You can also ignore full package tours and choose whatever travel items you need. We can quote the tours you really want. Normally travel insurance is not included in our quotations. 

Quotations for Children (normally age below 11): For private tours, we will give proper discount according the actual condition; but for group tours,children have to pay 10% - 25% more.  Anyway contact us for the actual quotations in your case and exact situation.

Important Notice from  Tour-silkroad 

1. All rates onTour-Silkroad.com are subject to reconfirmation from us when an actual reservation is being made. 

 2. Tours price are net and non-hidden cost extra. The price must be lower because we are the local company who offers the service to you directly. We have all of firsthand resource which provides high-quality service. There is no any middleman between Tour-silkroad and tourists.

 3. All tours & transfers are all based in English -Speaking local guides. For other languages, please contact us for new quotations.

Individual Travel and Group Travel
The cost for Individual and Group price is different from the amount of total tourists: 1 person; 2 persons: 3-5 persons; 6-9 persons; Group price is only for tourists over 10.
Itinerary Change

Itinerary Change to the confirmed itinerary may happen because of weather, traffic,  or any other conditions which are not under our control such as war, strike, fire, acts of government, riot,nature disaster etc. We will do our best to make sure that all the travel will be similar. Tour-silkroad  can substitute the itinerary by proper programs upon your agreement.

Hotels
The listed Hotels will be used according to the confirmed travel itinerary. When the confirmed hotels are not available, we can replace the hotels with the same standard upon your agreement.

Restaurants and Transportations

All restaurants should be clean and tidy, which are not so touristic.
We use the air-conditioned vehicles. All the vehicles are licensed with insurance. All vehicles are equipped with air-conditioning and can carry standard luggage.
    1-2 traveling Party: we offer cars;
    3-5 traveling Party: we offer vans;
    6-15 travelling Party: we offer 15-22-seat coach;
    16-25 traveling Party: we offer 33-39-seat coach;
    26-45 traveling party: we offer 47-51-seat coach.
Actually for private day tours and tour packages, we would randomly select the standard cars, vans or coaches in our vehicles lines. If you want to upgrade your standard vehicle to a deluxe one for your private tour, please contact us and pay an extra tour expense. 

Shopping arrangement

We really follow tourists own will. If tourists request to arrange some shoppings during the trip , we will tell guides and drivers to help them with shopping items. Even under this condition we still strongly promise no any mandatory shopping in our tour. If you really do not like shopping arrangement, you just let us know in advance. Then we will tell guides and drivers it is a non-shopping group. Thanks for your cooperation!

Tour Guides

(1) All local tour guides must be licensed. A tour guide without license trading with tourists directly is illegal in China. 

(2) Tour guides must be hospitable and knowledgeable with rich working experience.

(3) Responsibility on the part of a tour guide:
Tour guides are responsible for conducting tours and expeditions organized by tour operators for which they work. They take the tourists for historical places, famous buildings, natural landscape, temples and theme parks. During the course of the tours, tour and travel guides describe points of interest, answer questions and offer background information on interesting attractions.

(4) Tipping

Tipping is not included in the tour expense. Not compulsory, but tipping is strongly expected by drivers, tourguides, hotel bellboys and maids.

Here is tipping standard only for your reference:

 Tour Guide: 20 USD /day/group
 Driver: RMB 15 USD/ day/group
 Hotel Bellboy: RMB 5-RMB 10 (per room)

Warm Traveling Tips:

1，As we allknow ,taking the valid  passport with visa page is a must when you aretravelling;

2, Proper clothes should be prepared enough according to different seasons. In the morning and at night normally there is a large temperature difference at the points of the silk road trip.  Sunglasses , sun cream are strongly recommended during the trip due to the strong ultraviolet ray.

3, Some practical medicine had better be prepared by your own, suchas the medicine for stopping cold, killing diarrhea, car disease. If you originally have special disease like heart disease, high blood pressure,trachitis, diabetes , etc , you should let us know before you book the tour . After the agreement of the tour , you should take the right medicine by yourown;

4，If you are sensitive with something, please tell us before you book the tour. Then we will let the guide and driver to know this in  advance, which makes sure you have a smooth trip;

5, In the train stations especially the train to Xinjiang,the security check is very strict. The size of Knife and scissors must be within 5cm, otherwise you can not take them on the train. So the knife and scissors are not so necessary, do not take them. But if you take them which exceed the required size, you should have the mental preparation to drop them when you are accepting the security check. The bottle of alchol and wine must be sealed before you get un the waiting room. Water is allowed to be taken on the train, but when you pass the security check you might be requested to drink a little. Of course the liquid which might cause burning and explosion are prohibited to take . The size for other daily articles such as shampoo, hair conditioner, perfume, shaving foam and so on must be under 100mm.

6, Tourists should respect the local custom and local religion;

7, Tourists must comply with the laws of the country which they are travelling.

Liability Policy

Tour-silkroad purchases air and land transportations,hotels, restaurants and other travel service from independent suppliers which are not under its control. So Tour-silkroad will not be responsible for any liabilities for death, injury, luggage loss and damage or any other loss that may occur because any act or omission of such supplier.

3. Payment

Deposit & Final payment
 1). For Individual Tourists
   a) Daily Bus Tours: pay cash on the spot or total payment upfront;
   b) Private Day Tours or Transfers: total payment upfront;
   c) Multi-Day Packages: first deposit，or total payment upfront.
Remark: Your actual payment is subject to reconfirmation from us when an actual reservation is being made.
 2). For Oversea Travel Agency or Organizations
 A deposit equal to 10%-20% of the total tour expense is required at the same time of reservation. The full or final payment is required 30 days prior to your tour group departure for China. If your tour is reserved within 30 days before your departure for China, total payment is required.

3).Modes of Payment

We are now able to offer 2 methods ofPayment:

a).  Wire transfering the fee (in USD) to the bank account of our company;

b).  Visa or Master Card secures online payment via PayPal;

Payment with credit card

If you pay master card, the only way for you to pay us is PAYPAL

Regarding on the credit card payment, please go to Paypal by the following way which is helpful .

Follow the steps below if you do not have a PayPal account:

1) Sign up for a PayPal account on the Official Website. www.paypal.com

2) Tie your bank account or a credit card to PayPal. (See All Funding Sources)

3) Click the "Send Money" tab on your account Overview page.

4) Enter the account of the recipient:  robin426@163.com

5) Input the amount of money and select the appropriate currency.

6) Choose the type of payment you are making.

7) Click the "Continue" button and add an optional message to your recipient

Important Notice

1). While sending money via Paypal, please leave a text message indicating the code of the tour you have booked through us or the use of your money.

2). 5% Transaction fees will be added to yourpayment while using Paypal.

Disclaimer of Difference Caused by Exchange Rate (For Credit Card Users)
Tour-silkroad converts Chinese currency to US Dollars at a rate of CNY 6.80 = US$1 for our quotations,but Tour-silkroad will draw Chinese currency (CNY) from your credit card. Banks and credit cardcompanies must then buy Chinese currency at their local rate to make the payment. The rate may be more or less than our rate.
Banks and credit card companies may also make a service charge for the transaction. 3%-4% service fee will be charged by banks from your card. The Exchange Rates of CNY against the US Dollar and other currencies are fluctuating frequently due to the changing world financial situation. For these reasons what appears on your bank statement may be more (or even less) than what you were expecting. We get no benefit from the difference appearing on your credit card statement. 

4. Cancellation Policy

We are sorry that you are going to cancel yourtrip in China. We fully understand you have the right reasons for your choice.The cancellation fee will be charged to your account per the policy below:

Caution:

1). The cancellation policy above is not eligible for the China tours with flight reservations. The cancellation fees for flight reservations are charged according to the actual cost charged byairlines.
 2). Yangtze River Cruise fare can't be refunded if you cancel within 35days before departure. No-show travelers will be charged 100% of the full payment.

5. Mutual Responsibility

 1).  Tour-silkroad shall hold no responsibility for any loss,damage of the clients' articles, injury of clients or other liability whatsoever within the territory of Tour-silkroad or other countries through no fault of Tour-silkroad or its employees ,agents.
 2). Tour-silkroad shall be responsible for not providing confirmed services to tourists.

6. Travel Documentation

All clients must be in possession of avalid passport and necessary visas or permits at the commencement of travel. All such documentation is the sole responsibility of the client. Your travel advisor may assist you in applying for the necessary travel documentation upon request. We accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of clients to obtain appropriate documentation. 

7. Luggage Allowance

In accordance with regulations of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, the free baggage allowance within China is 20kg for the economy class, 30kg for the business class, and 40kg for the first class, plus limited carry-on luggage. Excess baggage charges are the sole responsibility of the client. Regulations within China specify that all suitcases must have a locking device attached. Failure to follow this regulation may result in refusal by airport staff to load suitcases onto the aircraft.

8. Health Requirements

Clients should take into account all international travel risks and familiarize themselves with health requirements applicable to the areas they intend to visit. The client is solely responsible for checking the safety and security conditions, vaccination, and other health requirements of governments in countries visited or transited. Travelers to Tibet are required to provide a doctor's certificate stating that he/she is fit to travel and his/her blood pressure and heart condition are normal. This is a necessary requirement because of the possible effects that the very high altitude may have on certain people.

9. Money-back Guarantee and Refund Policy

We at Tour-silkroad are very happy with your purchase of our travel service. If our travel service is far below the service standard we have promised, you have the right to have your money refunded. As for the refund amount, it will depend on your original circumstances. But no refunds are provided after more than 30 days following the end of our service rendered to you.

10. Privacy Policy

We at Tour-silkroad are committed to protecting the privacy of our customers and visitors. We know you care about what happens to your personal information appeared in the emails you have sent to us, so we have created this privacy statement to reaffirm that We will not share your email address and email content with anyone.

11. Travel Agency Liability Insurance

We have purchased the travel agency liability insurance. The travel agency liability insurance refers to the compensation offered to the travel agency by the insurance company because of travel agency's negligence or the error which has caused harm and damage to their clients.
The travel agency liability insurance and the traveling accident insurance (personal  insurance ) are different. The travel agency liability insurance belongs to the liability insurance category,but the tourist own personal travel insurance belongs to individual accident insurance.

 "The travel agency liability insurance" mainly aims at the tourist loss and the injury caused by the travel agency responsibility, except by the force majeure - the earthquake, theTsunami, or extreme weather (heavy fog, snow and rain ) bringing damage to tourist person, property or the pre-arranged itinerary, the damage which is not in its responsibility scope. Tourists  suffering from the loss or the harm caused by their own diseases, or tourist individual errors, is also not in "travel agency liability insurance" in payment scope.

12. Your personal accident insurance

We strongly suggest you purchase your personal accident insurance from your native country before you leave for China. The individual purchased travel insurance is different from the travel agency liability insurance we have applied for. Therefore the tourist must protect oneself to apply for personal accident insurance. If you want to entrust us to purchase your traveling accident insurance in China for you, please inform us well in advance. Please pay the insurance premium by yourself. Thanks for your cooperation!

13. Disclaimer Statement

Tour-Silkroad gives no warranty and accepts no responsibility or liability for the accuracy or the completeness of the information and materials contained in this website. Under no circumstances will Tour-Silkroad  be held responsible or liable in any way for any claims, damages, losses,expenses, costs or liabilities resulting or arising directly or indirectly from your use of or inability to use this website or any websites linked to it, or from your reliance on the information and material on this website.

14. Complaints and Claims

Shall you feel unsatisfied with any service we has provided, please notify your local tour guide or your travel advisor to avoid the potential for similar problems happening again during your trip.
In the event of a complaint or claim for compensation, you must inform us by email, regular mail, or facsimile in writing within 15 days from the end of your tour. Relevant receipts and substantiating evidence must be attached to the letter of claim. We will not be liable for any claims made later than 15 days after your tour is finished .

15. Arbitration Agreement

Any problem or claim relative to your travel shall be solved only in Dunhuang, China, on the basis of the terms in English.
