Transportation in Lanzhou

Lanzhou can be the bridge and link between eastern and central China and western China. The four main railway lines of Longhai Line, Lanxin Line,Lanqing line and Baolan Line converge here. The transportation tools are all mature and developed,such as air flights, railway trains,express trains ,road bus, metro subway, taxi, bicycles.

By plane
Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport (IATA: LHW) serves as the main airport and is located 75 km north of Lanzhou. Flights are from more than 20 cities depart andarrive at the airport. Daily flights are to Beijing, Changsha, Chengdu,Chongqing, Dunhuang, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Haikou, Hangzhou, Jiayuguan, Kunming,Nanjing, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Urumqi, Wenzhou, Wuhan, Xiamen,Xi'an and Zhengzhou. To get to the downtown will take around 1 hour by airport bus service or express train. Buy a 30 rmb ticket to the left of the exit door of domestic arrivals. It will drop you downtown at Tianshui Road. You may also pass the return terminus for the airport bus, about 3 stops up from the airport drop stop. Returning to the airport from this terminus, you will be accosted by touts offering taxi rides. It can be possible to share a taxi for 40 -50 rmb per person. But buses leave every hour, on the hour. You can take fast trains for round trip between Lanzhou city to the terminal 2 of Lanzhou airport as well.
By regular train
Lanzhou Railway Station is a major railway hub of western China. Everyday there are over 100 passenger trains originate or pass via this station. It is a vitalfocal point connecting the western Chinese provinces with the east.

Metro (Lanzhou Rail Transit)

Lanzhou Rail Transit refers to the Urban Rail Transit System in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, China, the first line of which, Lanzhou Rail Transit Line 1, was launched for trial operation on June 23, 2019. By June 2019, Lanzhou rail transit has opened one line with a total length of 25.9 kilometers and 20 stations.
