By high-speed train
The Xianbei High-Speed Railway opened on Jan.11 , 2011.

The high speed train from Xianbei to Luoyang-Longmen is now available many times a day, starting 7am. It takes about 1.5 hours. The high speed train  station is located about 10km north from the Xi'an north gate (do not be confused with the Xi'an North gate train station). The last train returns around 7pm.The high-speed trains runs to many cities of China, such as Shanghai,Beijing,Wenzhou,Chengdu,Zhengzhou,Lanzhou,Xining,Chongqing,Guangzhou,Fuzhou,Changsha,Dalian,Nanchang,Qingdao,Shenzhen,Wuhan,Taiyuan,Nanjing and Yan'an,as well as round trips to theses cities. But normally tourists just choose to Luoyang, Tianshui, Lanzhou from Xi’an ,which is more convenient for traveling only. Xianbei Station is connected by the metro system.

By regular train
There are 6 passenger transport railway stations in Xi’an. The Xi'an Railway Station is one of the eight major national railway stations and the main railway transportation hub of Shaanxi Province ,located just north of Xi'an walled city.

The other stations of the city include Xi'an West, Xi'an East, Xi'an South,Sanmincun, and Fangzhicheng railway stations.
Xi'an Railway Station covers 597,000 square meters, has 5 passenger platforms, and 24 tracks. It provides 112 services to 80,000 people daily. The services are normally provided from Xi'an to Zhengzhou, Lanzhou, Baoji, and Mount Hua.
There are plenty of trains transporting passengers to and from most of the major cities inside China. Keep in mind train tickets may only be available if booked far in advance (most ticket sales open 10-21 days in advance; an agent can help book but will probably charge significant commission fees). Traveling in a seat (hard or soft-class) means you will share the cabin space with lots of locals. You will most likely encounter smokers, loud noise, and constant activity in the aisle while you try to sleep. Do not suggest to travel hard class if you are uncomfortable with these settings. Sleeper cabins are limited to 6 people each (4 for deluxe soft sleepers); Bottom berths cost a bit more because they're a little wider. If traveling alone, be especially careful of your luggage! Also note that bathrooms and washrooms may be closed or locked 30-40 minutes before reaching to the train station.
Trains run to several domestic cities including: Beijing (5-13 hours), Chengdu(13-18 hours), Chongqing (14 hours), Guangzhou (8–24 hours), Kunming (36-53hours), Lanzhou (8-10 hours), Lhasa (36 hours), Shanghai (11-20 hours), Urumqi(31-56 hours), Wuhan (4-18 hours), and Zhengzhou (2–6 hours).
In Xi'an, it is very easy to get to the railway station by city bus from anywhere in the city. There are several stops within 200 m of the station .

Taxi
The brands of Taxies in Xi'an are predominantly VW Santana made in Shanghai, BYD Auto made inXi'an, and Citroen made in Wuhan. Most, if not all, taxis in Xi'an run on petrolas well as compressed natural gas. The app of Didi Chuxing car-hailing is verypopular as well.
Metro
The 4 lines of Xi’an metro are constructed already. Line 2 was firstly opened,on Sep.16, 2011. The 5 more line are now under construction.

Xi'an currently has two ring road systems, the Second Ring road and the Third Ringroad which encircle the city. These ring roads are similar to freeways, exceptthat there are traffic signals on the Second Ring road.

Express way
As a tourist city, the express ways to Lintong, Tongchuan and Baoji were built inXi’an, and well-maintained roads to famous scenic spots in suburban counties and to the north slope of the Qin Mountains were built as well. The express wayof Xi'an to Hanzhong was constructed.
